Oregon State men's basketball freshman Alfred Hollins arrested, released after police say he gave false information

CORVALLIS -- Oregon State freshman forward Alfred Hollins was arrested early Sunday on one charge of giving false information to a police officer.

Hollins was booked and released, and no charges are pending, according to Undersheriff Greg Ridler from the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Police say the 6-foot-7 former four-star recruit was stopped at 1:50 a.m. Sunday in downtown Corvallis for driving the wrong way on Southwest Adams Avenue near 6th Street.

Hollins, 18, gave an incorrect date of birth and a false name to the officer when questioned, police say.
