CORVALLIS - Tuesday's practice at Gill Coliseum ended later than planned for the Oregon State men's basketball team.
Players asked coach Wayne Tinkle for one more possession before the competitive day ended. It was during a scramble for a loose ball on that final play that freshman forward Alfred Hollins' elbow accidently made contact with the face of senior Seth Berger.
By Thursday night, before the Beavers cruised to a 94-62 home win over Washington State in front of 4,235 fans in attendance, Berger had not cleared concussion protocol. It opened the door for Hollins' first start and he finished with a career-high 19 points (7 of 9) and four steals, providing a much-needed boost for a team's whose depth has been an Achilles heel.
