CORVALLIS -- Oregon State still has two games remaining in the 2015 football season. But prior to Saturday afternoon's contest against Washington, prominent Beavers officials turned their attention to the future, holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the massive renovations for the Valley Football Center.
Coach Gary Andersen, athletic director Todd Stansbury and president Ed Ray were among those in attendance, donning shiny orange hard hats with the Beavers logo and digging shovels into a patch of dirt behind the north end zone.
The project, which was originally announced last December, will add almost 38,000 square feet of additional space to the center that will house a new locker room at field level that will be 53 yards wide, expanded training and equipment areas, a new team auditorium, a nutritional/performance training table for all student-athletes, football staff offices, a sports medicine facility and a football Hall of Fame.
