CORVALLIS - Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle said weeks before the 2018-19 men's basketball season began that the Beavers were capable of regularly scoring in the 80s.
Oregon State had been much less than that through six games, but after Saturday's 101-77 romp over Missouri State, now we know what Tinkle was talking about.
The Beavers (6-1) cranked up their offense against the Bears, hitting a school-record 16 3-pointers and shooting 61 percent from the floor. Stephen Thompson Jr. and Ethan Thompson hit five 3-pointers each. OSU assisted on 29 of its 39 baskets.
"Man, it's wildfire when they share the ball like they did," Tinkle said.
