Oregon State is halfway through a 2017 regular season during which little has gone as planned for a team that entered fall camp with postseason aspirations.
The good news for the Beavers is that they already played the most difficult portion of their schedule with three consecutive games against Washington State, Washington and USC, three of the four ranked teams in the Pac-12. All three now sit 13 or better in the AP Top 25 poll
Conversely, the teams OSU (1-5, 0-3 Pac-12) played in non-conference play have not looked as strong since.
Colorado State (Colorado and Alabama) and Minnesota (Maryland and Purdue) have two losses apiece since dismantling Oregon State, while Portland State is 0-5 including its 35-32 loss at the Beavers.
