The ducks (The undercase is intentional) have not performed up to expectations, or at least up to their fans expectations. After an embarrassing showing in the Las Vegas Bowl against Boise State, the off-season was marred by the abrupt departure of former Head Coach Willie Taggart to Florida State. The ducks had to act fast to secure the positions of defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt, who was rumored to have been considering leaving for a Head Coaching job.
