Oregon State football injury updates for Saturday's game against California

Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith was optimistic that at least one of several of the team's currently injured standouts could play in Saturday's game against California.

Smith said after Thursday's practice that defensive end Jeromy Reichner "has a chance" to make his 2018 debut against the Bears. The junior college transfer injured his foot in August during preseason camp.

Quarterback Jake Luton and receiver Isaiah Hodgins are 50-50 for Saturday, Smith said. Luton is recovering from a high ankle sprain suffered Sept. 15 against Nevada, while Hodgins has been out three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Smith said Luton has been limited in practice.
