CORVALLIS - Since before the start of fall camp, the Oregon State coaching staff has been blunt in its assessment of the Beavers' defensive front.
While some position groups discovered newfound depth, the line has been subject to perpetual question marks given Gary Andersen's "underachieving" evaluation and a run defense that ranked 102nd in the nation last season.
But last week brought positive reviews for talented sophomore defensive tackle Elu Aydon, which could signal much-needed improvement up the middle.
"I think Elu is getting himself into shape and he's taking coaching the right way," defensive line coach Chad Kauha'aha'a said.
