CORVALLIS - Two days before the start of Oregon State's preseason camp, coach Jonathan Smith is far from decided on a starting 22 for the 2018 season. He's eager to see if summer workouts will pay off when the Beavers throw on pads in a week.
But Smith does have an answer is the question regarding whether the Beavers - 1-11 a year ago playing for two different head coaches -- have the talent to win games with a schedule that includes Ohio State, USC, Washington, Stanford and Oregon.
"I do. I look at this (Pac-12). It's really competitive.
