Despite surrendering 77 points and over 700 yards of total offense to Ohio State in a Week 1 loss in Columbus, Oregon State defensive coaches and players remained mostly positive in their reviews of the new Beavers defense after the first game.
“Obviously we’re disappointed with the results," first-year OSU defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar said on Wednesday, "but not discouraged, I'm really not."
Tibesar said he was pleased in how his unit "fought hard for four quarters," even with the explosive Buckeyes scoring on 11 of their 15 drives and averaging 8.3 yards per play.
"There was no give-up in our players," said Tibesar, "Which is something we were hoping for.
