Highly touted recruit and Oregon State target Michael Johnson Jr. announced on his Twitter Wednesday afternoon that he will be committing to the Penn State Nittany Lions. The product of Sheldon High School in Eugene had both Penn State and Oregon State in his top five along with Miami, North Carolina State, and Miami.
Johnson had offers from dozens of other FBS schools. 247 Sports ranks him as the top recruit in the state of Oregon, as well as the sixth-ranked dual threat quarterback and the 259th ranked recruit in the nation.
Johnson would have been the twelfth commit in the 2019 class for OSU and would have been the first quarterback.
