1. Difficult to leave Reser Stadium not feeling good about a star in the making in freshman Jermar Jefferson. Though it’s too early to say if Jefferson has a future like former Beaver running backs Jacquizz Rodgers, Steven Jackson and Ken Simonton, his two-game college resume is trending in that direction. Jefferson ran for four touchdowns and 238 yards, the third highest single-game total in Oregon State history. Jefferson has power and breakaway speed, two qualities that he repeatedly put on display against Southern Utah.
2. All that said about Jefferson, this could have been the night for Artavis Pierce if not for an injury early in the second quarter.
