Oregon State linebacker Darrell Songy has been dismissed from the program after missing all of last season due to a suspension. The Corvallis Gazette-Times reported Songy’s dismissal.
Per Gina Mizell of The Oregonian, Songy was suspended last year for failing three drug tests prior to the 2014 season, and his dismissal is a result of him not meeting “additional behavioral requirements” expected of him. This is a blow for both Songy and the team, as he was expected to compete for a starting job on the team this year.
A former three-star recruit from Austin, Texas, Songy is now likely headed to junior college for at least a year.
