Oregon State defensive line striving for more quarterback pressure, 1-on-1 success

CORVALLIS – Among the lasting images of Oregon State's season opening loss at Minnesota is that of a mid-air Darell Garretson, his back nearly parallel to the TCF Bank Stadium turf while still several feet off the ground.

No such image exists of Mitch Leidner, the Golden Gophers quarterback who consistently stayed upright for the duration of his night against the Beavers. And that contrast illustrates OSU coach Gary Andersen's two primary concerns as the Beavers move from Game 1 to Saturday's home opener against Idaho State on Saturday.

While the Beavers' challenges along the offensive line were glaring in the 30-23 loss, Andersen also emphasized his own team's quarterback pressure – or lack thereof.
