KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Marie Gulich had a double-double (29 points, 14 rebounds), Kat Tudor scored 19 and Mikayla Pivec had 15 and Katie McWilliams 13 to lead No. 6 seed Oregon State to an 82-58 win over No. 11 Western Kentucky on Friday in the first round of the women's basketball NCAA Tournament.
The victory earned the Beavers (24-7) a spot in Sunday's second round against either host Tennessee, a No. 3 seed in the Lexington Regional, or No. 14 Liberty.
Gulich scored 17 of her 29 points in the third quarter when the Beavers stretched an 18-point lead to 25.
