Oregon State Beavers wear down in 26-15 loss at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. — Oregon State's offense had finally made its second-half push, with quarterback Marcus McMaryion diving into the end zone and then tossing a pass to Ricky Ortiz to complete the two-point conversion and cut Stanford's lead to eight points.

But then Stanford lined up on offense and ran. And ran. And ran some more. Twenty-nine consecutive times, in fact, allowing the Cardinal to bleed the clock and churn out a 26-15 victory over the Beavers at Stanford Stadium.

"That's what Stanford wants to do," coach Gary Andersen said. "They want to get you to the point where they wear you out, and they make plays.
