Oregon State football fans in the Portland metro won't need to travel quite as far to get a glimpse of the Beavers during spring practice.
The Beavers will hold a public scrimmage at Hillsboro Stadium on April 9, marking the first time since 2005 the football team has held such a workout in the Portland metropolitan area.
"The football team's presence is part of our overall athletics strategy to showcase our student-athletes, teams and programming in the Portland metropolitan area," athletic director Todd Stansbury said in a release. "We welcome all of Beaver Nation to join us for a preview of what has been a very good offseason for Coach (Gary) Andersen and the football team.
