Three observations

1. Starting quarterback Nick Mitchell again practiced in a red no-contact jersey, telling reporters "I feel great" after getting knocked out of last week's game against California by a late hit. Offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin added "it's a relief that (Mitchell will) play," due to the injuries the Beavers have sustained at that position this season (Brent VanderVeen indeed would have been the emergency quarterback option and even took a couple snaps last week, Baldwin said).
