CORVALLIS - Oregon State men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle indicated Tuesday he did not think his team took a step backward as its losing streak grew to four games last week.
Yet while he and players outlined why they are not far from turning their season around, they also spoke of frustration, doubt and the need to build confidence quickly after their chances at postseason qualification took a mammoth hit in the Bay Area.
"Sometimes we kind of put a shell around ourselves when times get tough," Tinkle said, "and that's what we've got to get away from.
