Oregon State Beavers' defensive focus this week is simple: tackling

CORVALLIS -- There's good news and bad news for the Oregon State football team's beleaguered defense.

On the positive side, run-averse Washington State is unlikely to attack a defensive front that is giving up 303.4 rushing yards per game. Instead, the Beavers will be tasked with corralling quarterback Gardner Minshew and the nation's top passing offense Saturday night at Reser Stadium.

"Well, we've got Washington State right where we want them," Oregon State defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar joked after Wednesday's practice. "We're going to force them to run because of what our numbers are.
