Oregon State incoming freshman Grant Gambrell has been named to the 2016 Louisville Slugger High School All-America first team.
Gambrell, a pitcher and first baseman out of Buchanan High School in Clovis, California, went 12-0 with a 0.69 earned run average and 72 strikeouts in 71 innings pitched. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound righty also hit .363 with nine doubles, five home runs and 35 runs batted in. Buchanan won the Central Section D-I baseball title and was ranked No. 1 in the country by MaxPreps.
Gambrell, who went undrafted, was ranked by Baseball America among draft prospects and 437th by Perfect Game.
