Gary Andersen’s first season was a struggle, with the Beavers going 2-10 overall and winless in Pac-12 play in 2015. OSU started three freshmen quarterbacks -- Seth Collins, Nick Mitchell and Marcus McMaryion -- and battled injuries on defense while implementing new systems on both sides of the ball. Since then, transfer Darell Garretson has emerged as the starting quarterback, while Kevin Clune has taken over for Kalani Sitake as defensive coordinator and Kevin McGiven and T.J. Woods have been promoted to co-offensive coordinators and Dave Baldwin has been reassigned to inside receivers coach.
The Beavers finally snapped their NCAA Tournament drought, participating in March Madness for the first time since 1990 before losing to VCU in the first round.
