Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis has announced he will step down from his position, effective June 30, after 13 years on the job.
De Carolis, 62, says he does not plan to retire. In an open letter on the schools website, De Carolis said that he looks forward to "upcoming adventures in the world of intercollegiate athletics."
Four years ago, at the age of 58, De Carolis was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. However, according to a spokesman for the university, health was not a factor in De Carolis' decision to step down as athletic director.
