Just two weeks after stating his intention to transfer from the Oregon State basketball program, Julien Franklin announced on Twitter that he will be playing next season at Cal Poly for head coach John Smith and the Mustangs.
As noted in our previous piece, “Franklin arrived on campus in 2019 from California’s Villa Park High School, as a three-star recruit who seemed poised to potentially develop into a “three-and-D” type of talent with his length. However, he redshirted during the 2019-2020 campaign and averaged just 0.8 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game this past season, even failing to score more than 4 points in 20 minutes of actions during the Beavers blowout of Northwest University back in late November.
