Oregon State’s scarcely used guard Julien Franklin announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Friday, ending a two-year stay in Corvallis which has seen the 6’ 7”, 200-pounder rarely find any consistent playing time.
Franklin arrived on campus in 2019 from California’s Villa Park High School, as a three-star recruit who seemed poised to potentially develop into a “three-and-D” type of talent with his length. However, he redshirted during the 2019-2020 campaign and averaged just 0.8 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game this past season, even failing to score more than 4 points in 20 minutes of actions during the beavers blowout of Northwest University back in late November.
