The Beavers — who are coming off of a series victory against the then No. 10-ranked USC Trojans — with momentum building as they enter the more favorable stretch of the schedule, found themselves needing extra innings to fend off the Huskies.
It was freshman right fielder Elliot Cary who came through in the top of the 10th inning, driving in two runs to give the Beavers (28-13, 11-8 Pac-12) the 4-2 victory in the first game against the University of Washington in Seattle.
Junior right-hander Andrew Moore, coming off of his worst pitching performance of the season where he gave up six runs on nine hits in the loss against USC last weekend, regained his dominant form as he cruised through the first six innings of the game, retiring 17 of the first 18 Huskie batters he faced.
