The Beavers mounted a valiant comeback in the late innings of the game, but ultimately couldn’t come back against the Utah Utes, who rode a big fifth inning to a 5-3 win. The loss snaps the seven game win streak the Beavers had been on, and drops the team to 20-6 overall, and 7-2 in conference play.
The Beavers grabbed the first run of the game in the bottom of the second, which started with a big double from Jake Dukart. Dukart scored on an Andy Armstrong single, but the Beavers couldn’t build anything further. That would be the last scoring the Beavers saw until the eighth inning.
