Oregon State continued their series against Cal tonight at Evans Diamond Stadium as they looked to bounce back after yesterday 6-2 loss. Cal however had other plans as Cal's pitcher Ryan Mason threw a complete-game shutout for a 5-0 win. The Beavers record drops to (16-4, 3-2 Pac-12) and Cal improves to (13-6, 3-2 Pac-12).
The first inning looked to set the tone for the game as both teams were held hitless. Cal gained momentum the next inning as Brett Cumberland hit a solo home run and Mitchell Kranson added another in the fourth for a 2-0 lead.
