CORVALLIS — Gary Andersen immediately acknowledged his strange set of circumstances.
When he was hired as Oregon State's football coach in December 2014, Beavers athletic director Bob De Carolis was a department mainstay. He had arrived at the school in 1998 and spent more than a decade in the top post.
Now, Andersen is about to have his third boss in less than two years in Corvallis, after Todd Stansbury's abrupt move to Georgia Tech that takes the former Beavers athletic director back to his alma mater but again leaves OSU with a vacancy atop its department.
