Oregon State has hired Jason Phillips (passing game coordinator/wide receiver coach) and John Rushing (safeties coach) to replace Brent Brennan and Derrick Odum’s, after their departures to San Jose State.
Jason Phillips has previously been apart of the coaching staffs at Kansas, SMU, Baylor, and Texas State. He also had a prolific career as a wide receiver. He led the nation in receiving yards for Houston in 1987 and 1988, when he was catching passes from Heisman winner Andre Ware. He went on to play in the NFL and CFL.
John Rushing has spent the last seven seasons in a variety of roles for the Green Bay Packers.
