CORVALLIS – In assessing the slim chances Oregon State can reach its first bowl game in three years, head coach Gary Andersen highlighted a quote from one of his favorite movies.
"So you're saying there's a chance," he said, referencing the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber.
Unlike the dating odds for the Jim Carrey character Lloyd Christmas, the Beavers' odds of reaching a bowl are likely better than one in a million. But they took as significant a hit as possible Saturday in a 26-15 loss at Stanford, as the Oregon State (2-7, 1-5 Pac-12) offense mustered eight first downs and the Cardinal plowed through for 365 rushing yards.
