DALLAS – A double off the bat of Kyle Nobach in the eighth broke a 4-4 tie and sent the 17th-ranked Oregon State baseball team to a 5-4 win over Texas Friday afternoon at Horner Ballpark.
Nobach stroked an 0-1 pitch from Texas reliever Kirby Bellow to the gap in right center, enabling Joey Jansen to score from second. It sent the Beavers to an NCAA Regional opening victory and OSU will play the winner of VCU-Dallas Baptist at 4 p.m. PT Saturday. It is scheduled to air on ESPNU, but is subject to change.
