Oregon State tight end Noah Togiai has been granted a medical hardship and an extra season of eligibility, the school announced Monday afternoon.
Togiai, who will now be classified as a redshirt sophomore in 2017, tore his anterior cruciate ligament on the opening play of the Beavers' second game in 2016 and missed the rest of the season. He fully returned to action during spring practice and is expected to be a major contributor for OSU's passing game this coming season.
"I'm very thankful for the opportunity to have my sophomore year back," Togiai said in a statement.
