CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 1 seed Oregon State men's soccer team opened NCAA Tournament play with a 2-0 victory over St. John's (NY), at Lorenz Field on Sunday. The Beavers improve to 13-2-3 (7-1-2 Pac-12) and will advance to the Third Round for the first time in program history.
"I'm really proud of the group. We played a good first half, and in the second half St. John's stepped up their pressure. I think there's times we could have been better with it, but it's something we'll build on. I was quite pleased with the first two-thirds of the field, I think we need to continue to execute in the final third," said head coach Terry Boss.
