Nick Madrigal needed a respite from post-MLB draft negotiations. So last week the Oregon State signee joined the Corvallis Knights, the collegiate summer baseball team that shares a home stadium with the Beavers.
"One of the reasons I came out here was just to get my mind off of (negotiations) and just play baseball," Madrigal said Monday morning in a phone interview. "It's kind of out of my control, and I'm not really thinking too much about it to be honest with you."
Last Wednesday, Madrigal went to the Cleveland Indians in the 17th round.
