CORVALLIS, Ore. – For a moment it looked as if Utah would seal the Pac-12 series opener until freshman delivered a two-out triple to the left field wall in the tenth to lift the Beavers to a dramatic 8-7 win over the Utes on Thursday evening at Kelly Field.
The Beavers (32-18, 8-14 Pac-12) snapped their 10-game losing skid with the victory and looks to clinch the series tomorrow at 6 p.m. PT for Friday's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage game.
Mazon led the offense with an impressive 4-for-5 performance with a career-best two long balls, four runs batted in and three runs scored.
