The Bonnies (22-8) finished in a three-way tie for first place during the regular season in the Atlantic-10 Conference, one of the most competitive conferences in the nation this season. The other two teams that tied for first? Dayton and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), teams that received tournament berths. The Bonnies defeated Dayton and they defeated St. Joseph's - the A-10 tournament winner - twice.
