CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sophomore Juliana Mount set a school record in her steeplechase debut on Friday to highlight Oregon State performances on Day 1 of the fifth annual High Performance Meet at the Whyte Track & Field Center.

A middle-distance specialist, Mount took sixth place in 10:22.97 and broke Sam McKinnon's old mark of 10:25.78, set at the 2015 Pacific-12 Conference meet. She also ranks in OSU's all-time top-10 in the 800 (2:12.03), 1,500 (4:26.53) and 5,000 (16:42.83).

"I just wanted to finish," Mount said. "The 5K I did at Azusa Pacific [on April 14] was hard for me, it felt like it was really long.
