LUBBOCK, Texas – The initial watch list for the 2016 Brooks Wallace Award has been released and Oregon State junior Trever Morrison is one of 54 players on it.
The award is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate shortstop.
Morrison, who is one of four players from the Pac-12 Conference on the initial watch list, is batting .301 with seven doubles, four triples and one home run, having played in every one of Oregon State’s 36 games this season, making 33 starts.
Defensively, he has been a part of 22 of the Beavers’ 26 double plays, and has 85 assists on the year, second only to Nick Madrigal.
