Mazon Spins First Career Win in 8-2 Decision over Cowgirls

TEMPE, Ariz. – Freshman Mariah Mazon (Tulare, Calif.) was billed as the opening day starter for the Oregon State softball program and sat down seven over the course of seven innings as the Beavers bested Oklahoma State, 8-2, in day one at the Kajikawa Classic.

"It's great to get that first game under our belt," said head coach Laura Berg. "We played well against a top-25 team. Mariah (Mazon) threw well, and Alysha (Everett), Jessica (Garcia) and Missy (Nunes) all came up clutch with big hits. Our players are getting on and it was a fun game to watch.
