CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State junior Mariah Mazon was named the Pac-12 Softball Pitcher of the Week the conference announced Tuesday.
Mazon (Tulare, Calif.) led the Beavers in the circle last weekend at the Houston Classic with victories over Dayton and Houston. The junior started the weekend with a 6-2 victory over Dayton on Friday morning. She pitched a complete game of 7.0 innings with a new career-high 12 batters struck out that included at least two strikeouts in four-of-the-six innings and at least one strikeout in the other two.
On Saturday, the psychology major picked up her second save of the season after striking out the side in the top half of the seventh inning to help OSU to a 3-1 victory over the Flyers.
