Marie Gulich powers Oregon State Beavers women past Baylor, into NCAA Elite 8

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Two years ago in Dallas, Oregon State women's basketball earned a program-defining win against the Baylor Lady Bears.

Now, they have another.

The Beavers, seeded sixth in the Lexington Region, turned back the No. 2 seeded Lady Bears with some clutch shooting late, winning 72-67 to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.

With Oregon State up two, Katie McWilliams drained a three-pointer from the left wing with 12 seconds remaining to put the game away.

It was nip-and-tuck throughout much of the second half, but a crucial three-point play by senior center Marie Gulich with 8:22 remaining in the contest gave Oregon State a six-point cushion, 54-48.
