Manase Hungalu's status unclear for Cal Golden Bears game: Oregon State football notes

CORVALLIS -- Manase Hungalu watched Oregon State football practice Wednesday in his jersey and shells, but was without a helmet and had his sweatshirt hood pulled over his head.

An Oregon State spokesman said Hungalu has been dealing with an illness, which also limited his Tuesday practice participation. The illness throws another wrinkle in the senior inside linebacker and team captain's availability Saturday when the Beavers play at California.

The team's leading tackler was cited for violent conduct by the Corvallis Police Department last weekend, and defensive coordinator Kevin Clune declined to address whether Hungalu would play.
