Manase Hungalu Named Polynesian Player Of The Year Finalist

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State senior linebacker Manase Hungalu has been named a finalist for the 2017 Polynesian Player of the Year Award.

Hungalu is one of five finalists for the honor, which is given annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian Ancestry. Hungalu hails from Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i.

He recently completed his Oregon State career with 97 tackles as a senior, adding 2.5 sacks, six tackles for loss and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown against Portland State. Hungalu racked up 20 tackles in the game against California, tying him for fourth-most all-time at Oregon State, and was named the Pac-12 Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
