Action got underway in Baton Rouge on the first day of the College Baseball Tournament, and while the Beavers will have to wait a bit before they take the field, LSU immediately established why they locked down a superregional seed by crushing Tulane 7-2 in the first game of the day.
The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the first with a Hayden Travinski double and never relinquished control of the game. They added two runs in the bottom of the second, which featured a big double from star outfielder Dylan Crews, one run in the bottom of the third, and two more in the bottom of the fifth.
