Logan Ice Now A Semifinalist For Bench Award

WICHITA, Kan. – The Johnny Bench Award has reduced its watch list to 15 semifinalists, and unsurprisingly, Oregon State junior Logan Ice finds himself on it.

He is one of three catchers from the Pac-12 Conference on the list, and for good reason. The junior is batting .336 with 12 doubles, five triples, seven home runs and 39 runs batted in this season. Defensively, he’s been stellar, recording a .992 fielding percentage and has thrown out better than 40 percent of attempted basestealers.

Ice’s .336 batting average ranks him eighth in the Pac-12, while his 39 RBI place him fifth.
