WICHITA, Kan. – There were two very well deserved honors bestowed on Logan Ice on Tuesday.
First, the junior was named the Pac-12’s Player of the Week after record six hits, two home runs and eight runs batted in over three games. Now, hours later, he’s been named to the initial watch list for the Johnny Bench Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate catcher.
The list starts at 74 catchers, and Ice is one of five who hail from the Pac-12 Conference. The list will be pared down to semifinalists and announced on May 18.
