Live updates: No. 2 seed Oregon State battles No. 3 seed Florida State in Sweet 16

STOCKTON, California -- Sydney Wiese stresses that looking too far ahead in the NCAA Tournament will likely yield an early exit.

But the Oregon State star point guard acknowledges that when the Stockton region was revealed almost two weeks ago, she felt immediate excitement about a possible Sweet 16 matchup against No. 3 seed Florida State.

Now that hope has become reality, with the second-seeded Beavers set to face the Seminoles Saturday afternoon at Stockton Arena.

"There's some schools that when you're in college, you want to play them and somehow you hope that you will, whether it's in (nonconference) play or in the postseason," Wiese said.
