A three-star recruit that played offense and defense in high school, McCartan stands at 6’5” and 225 pounds. He originally committed to the Beavs in late January after visiting the campus.
McCartan picked OSU over a host of D1 offers including Fresno State, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Washington State. McCartan is one of two linebackers in the Beavs’ 2018 class. Craig Francois is the other. The Santa Margarita Catholic prouduct brings more depth to a position group that is losing a few bodies this season.
