Late Inning Heroics Fall Short, Beavers Downed by Ducks on Sunday

EUGENE, Ore. – A fourth inning two-run rally handed Oregon State softball the 4-2 loss at No. 22 Oregon on Sunday afternoon. Five different Beavers scattered a hit on the day while senior led the offense with two runs batted in during the loss.

Mazon got the starting nod for the series finale on Sunday afternoon and suffered the loss in the circle after pitching three 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, four runs and struck out seven Ducks. Freshman threw the final 2.2 frames, giving up just one hit.

Both lineups were retired in order during the first inning before Oregon scored a run in the second.
